Bay Area Veterinary Specialists is a group of veterinary specialists dedicated to providing excellence in advanced care and compassionate service for your pet and you. We are here to assist your family veterinarian with difficult or challenging cases. Our specialists work closely as a team to provide advanced expertise, sophisticated diagnostics and optimal care for your pet. Bay Area Veterinary Specialists offers specialty care in the fields of small animal surgery, cardiology, internal medicine, oncology, ophthalmology, and dermatology.
Bay Area Veterinary Specialists is housed in a 10,000 square foot facility in southeast Houston Texas. The current hospital was completed in 2000. The surgical practice (Veterinary Surgical Group, LLP) has been operating in the Houston area since 1982 and was one of the first board-certified veterinary surgical private practices in the nation. The internal medicine, cardiology practice (Veterinary Medical Specialists of Houston) joined the Houston area surgical practice in 1993 after moving from California. The oncology service has provided care in the Houston area since 1983 and partnered with Bay Area Veterinary Specialists in 2006. Gulf Coast Animal Eye Clinic has two practice locations in Houston, the first beginning in 1979 and then adding their second in Bay Area Veterinary Specialists in 2000 with the completion of the our new hospital. Veterinary Allergy & Dermatology Clinic offers a second location in our hospital on alternating Wednesdays to better serve the southeast Houston area.
